I purchased the in ground package after buying the wireless system for our lake. The wireless signal was too small for our property but perfect for the lake and I wanted our dog (a 50 pound goldendoodle) to have the same collar so we stuck with . I was dragging my feet to install this because I had about 1,500 feet to lay. Well I finally decided that I didn't want to go the winter without it and the temps are dropping. I headed to my local tool rental place to see what they had because I've read the reviews where installation was the biggest hurdle. They actually had a "cable layer" which was a little gas powered self propelled machine that you spool the cable onto and it feeds it through a blade like device that has a spinning bit in front of it and you can set the depth to an inch or so. I laid 1,500 feet in about 4 hours and that included spooling up a run of twisted wire where I wanted to cancel the signal. It works great and he turns right around when it starts making noise. Very happy with this purchase.
